Bass Harbor Memorial Library
89 Bernard Rd., Bernard, ME
Exhibition from May 26 to June 27, 2026

Please visit Bass Harbor Memorial Library for a display of my recent watercolor landscape paintings, mostly of the area surrounding Acadia National Park. I hope you’ll join me for a reception Friday June 5 at 6:00 pm at the library.

I’ve been working hard this year to use the flow of water more actively in the painting process, a constant balancing between freedom and control under the guidance of master watercolor painter, Janine Gallizia of Paris, France. My progress is slow, step by step, but I’m having fun, and I hope you will notice a difference and more atmosphere in my paintings.

A peaceful rural scene depicting a dirt road surrounded by tall trees, with two figures on bicycles and a horse-drawn carriage approaching a gated entryway.

Please visit my website, www.rickosann.com, to purchase or see more of my new paintings from this past winter and spring.

Rick Osann has been painting in watercolor since the early 1970's. After various careers as a professional Scenic Artist working for stage, film & TV in New York City, and teaching art/theatre/film at Bonny Eagle High School in southern Maine, Rick is now happily focusing on his painting in Bar Harbor, Maine, one of the beautiful places of our world, in his studio adjacent to Acadia National Park. Rick is most interested in exploring light, shadow and color in nature through his painting. His work celebrates the beauty of the Maine landscape, on its own or in combination with elements of man's built environment. Please contact Rick with any questions or interest in commissioning a painting of your favorite landscape or pets.
